Education and Recreation Facilities
McGraw's Custom Construction has constructed a number of Educational and Recreational facilities throughout southeast Alaska. Below are a few of these projects.

Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School
Location: Juneau ,, Alaska
Owner: City and Borough of Juneau
Architect: MRV Architects/ Jensen Douglas Architects
Contract Amount: $11.1 Million        
Project Description: The Juneau Middle School Project was constructed in 1992 in Juneau , Alaska . The building is a structural steel with light gage metal framing, concrete floors, wood siding, brick wainscot, and composition roofing. The school has 82,000 square feet including classrooms, gymnasiums, commons, library, and administrative offices.

McGraw’s Custom Construction utilized its own work forces to complete a large portion of the work on this project. Including, all cast in place concrete work, all metal stud framing, siding, insulation, and window and door installation. McGraw’s Custom Construction’s on and off site management performed exceptionally well to complete this project on time while maintaining an extremely high quality product. 





New Craig High School
Location: Craig, Alaska
Owner: Craig City School District
Architect: MRV Architects
Contract Amount: $9.2 Million        
Project Description: Construction was completed in 2000 on the New Craig High School is a 50,000 square foot structure that used structural steel with light gauge metal stud framing. The structure, houses, classrooms, administration offices, a large auditorium, a 750 seat basketball gymnasium, and a large open commons area. The finishes installed in the building were in the mid to high quality range.





Sitka High School Renovations
Location: Sitka, Alaska
Owner: City and Borough of Sitka
Architect: MRV Architects
Contract Amount: $9.2 Million        
Project Description: The renovation to Sitka High School was completed in 2000 for the City of Sitka was a phased project that involved two separate phases that spread out over a period of 16 months. The contract required phasing of the project so that the building could still be used during the school year while construction took place. The building is a 100,000 square foot steel and concrete structure that was constructed in the early 1960’s. The scope of the project involved major demolition that removed all but the building’s shell, and then reconstructed the interior of the building with new mechanical and electrical systems and all new finishes while the building was occupied.



Ketchikan High School Phase IV Renovation
Location: Ketchikan, Alaska
Owner: City of Ketchikan
Architect: MRV Architects / Jensen Douglas Architects
Contract Amount: $5.0 Million        
Project Description: The Ketchikan High School Phase IV Renovation Project involved complete renovation of the existing gymnasium. This was a fast paced project in which $5 million worth of construction was completed in 5 months. In this renovation, McGraw’s Custom Construction installed structural upgrades, new mechanical and electrical systems. All interior finishes were replaced, including installation of new hardwood flooring, new bleachers and seating, acoustical treatment, and gym equipment. McGraw’s Custom Construction completed this project on schedule in time for the High School basketball season.



Ketchikan Indoor Recreation Center
Location: Ketchikan, Alaska
Owner: Ketchikan Gateway Borough
Architect: Kumin Associates
Contract Amount: $5.0 Million        
Project Description: 45,000 sq. ft, steel and concrete structure containing two full size basketball court, three racquetball courts, dace studios, weight rooms, day care, an elevated running track, and management offices.
